What is a condensate pump and what is it used for?
It is a device that is used to extract condensation water in those cases in which it is not evacuated due to the natural unevenness of the piping system. In refrigeration appliances, air conditioners, gas or diesel boilers and in refrigeration installations, condensation water is produced by the difference in temperature between the pipe and the outside environment where it is located.
The reason why the condensed water cannot be removed may be because the cooling or heating equipment is located away from the drain or because the drain is at a higher level than the equipment.
The condensate pumps work through a small tank with a water level detector connected to the pipe, the pump is activated and sucks the condensed water, driving it towards the drain, installed for the correct evaluation of the water .
The SANICONDENS Mini is a pump designed to evaluate condensed water from condensing boilers, air conditioning systems or refrigeration cabinets. It works with a buoy system that when it detects that the water level in the tank rises, it activates a microswitch and the turbine turns on to eliminate the condensate immediately.
In relation to its characteristics, it stands out for:
- It weighs only 1.3kg
- It has 4 inputs to facilitate the connections of the evacuation devices
- It allows to extract water of temperatures between 35ºC up to 80ºC
- Resists the acidity of the condensates from the boilers
- It can raise condensed water up to 2 meters high and 20 meters away through a 8/11 mm diameter tube.
The SANICONDENS Pro is a pump specially designed to extract acid water from gas or diesel condensing boilers. In addition, it also adapts to air conditioning systems or refrigerated cabinets. They can be connected both to the boiler condensate pipe and to the discharge valve of a condensing boiler. In the same way that SINICONDENS works with a buoy system, which detects the level of the water in the tank.
In case of using SANICONDENS Pro for the elimination of condensates from diesel boilers, it must be combined with SANINEUTRAL to neutralize the acidity of the condensates before they are discharged into the public network.
In relation to its characteristics, it stands out for:
- Its adaptability to all types of installations thanks to its symmetrical shape and its 2 28 mm diameter inlets.
- It has 2 input and output adapters that allow easy installation
- You can evacuate up to 6.2 liters per minute with a 2.2L tank
- It is pre-equipped with an alarm cable
Common characteristics:
The two models share similarities at a technical level such as:
- The diameter of the inputs of 28 mm
- Supply voltage of 220-240 V
- IP20 protection index
- The sound level below 45 dB
- And in both cases they can withstand maximum temperatures of incoming water of up to 80 ºC
Differences between the SANICONDENS Pro and SANICONDENS Mini condensate pump
- The weight of the devices: the SANICONDENS Mini with 1.3Kg is lighter than the SANICONDENS Pro with 2kg.
- The maximum horizontal evaluation: the SANICONDENS Mini reaches up to 20 m while the SANICONDENS Pro reaches 50 m.
- The maximum vertical evaluation: the SANICONDENS Mini is up to 2 m and the SANICONDENS Pro reaches 4.5m.
The evacuation capacity: the SANICONDENS Mini reaches up to 144L per hour with a 1L tank and the SANICONDENS Pro is 6.2 liters per minute with a 2.2L tank.
Although SANICONDENS Pro has some better features than SANICONDENS Mini, to choose a product you should look for the one that best suits your situation. Since each model is designed for different needs.
If you only need to evaluate condensed water from condensing boilers, air conditioning systems or refrigerated cabinets, the SANICONDENS Mini is more recommended. While if the distance between your air conditioning equipment and the drainage system is greater than 2 meters in height or 20 meters away, you should purchase the SANICONDENS Pro.
In addition, the SANICONDENS Pro is specially designed to extract acid water from gas or oil condensing boilers.
