The right lighting can completely transform the way a painting is perceived in a room. If you want to add a special touch to your decor and highlight those paintings you love so much, an excellent idea is to add light to them in a creative and simple way. In this project we show you how to do it, using accessible materials and simple steps that you can follow at home.
Materials and tools needed:
- Frame
- Silicone
- Battery-operated LED lights
- Spray paint
- Spray varnish
Step 1: Paint the frame
The first step in lighting up your painting is to customize the frame to your liking. Use spray paint in the color of your choice, applying several thin layers to achieve an even finish. Let it dry thoroughly between coats for the best result. Once you get the color you want, apply a coat of spray varnish to protect the paint and give it a shiny or matte finish, depending on your preference.
Step 2: Add the glass and lights
With the frame painted and varnished, it's time to add the glass to the front. Use silicone to secure it firmly, making sure it doesn't move around. The next step is to attach the LED lights to the inside of the frame. These lights are battery operated, so it's important to glue them so that the end of the wire where the battery box is located is near a corner of the frame. This will make it easier to access the box to turn the lights on and off when needed.
Step 3: Attach the Lid and Finish
Once you've placed your painting or photo inside the frame, it's time to close the back. Attach the back cover to the frame, but before you do, cut a small section off one of the bottom corners. This will allow the wire and battery box to come out without dangling. Use silicone to secure the battery box and make sure everything is secure.
Final result
With these simple steps, you will have managed to illuminate your painting in an elegant and original way, creating a cozy atmosphere and highlighting the work of art in your home. This project is not only functional, but also adds a special decorative touch to any room. Go ahead and try it and transform your paintings into the center of attention in your home!
