Catral has its origins in the 1920s, specifically in 1928, when the commercialization of the first manufactures of hurdles and other products obtained from the native cane of the south of the province of Alicante began. This was the origin of an industrial and business activity initially linked to agriculture and construction.
The range was expanded in subsequent years with the manufacture of fabrics from other natural materials such as wicker, fern and heather; as well as the importation of others such as bamboo.
In the 1980s, Catral began manufacturing fabric based on synthetic rods obtained by extrusion of PVC. It was the first company to manufacture and market this product, providing absolute innovation in the Spanish market. It is currently one of the only two European companies that manufacture this type of fabric, with its own extrusion plant equipped and dedicated specifically to its production.
In subsequent years the company has constantly expanded its range of products, tackling new sectors such as DIY, gardening and decoration to make the Catral brand a national and international benchmark in the supply of products for these channels.
