More informationCross-linked polyethylene (PEX) is a variant of polyethylene that undergoes a chemical or physical reaction, resulting in a cross-linked molecular structure that makes it a thermostable material. Its characteristics include being harmless, lightweight and flexible, being able to withstand freezing temperatures without damage. Its installation is easy and safe, with tools and materials easily available on the market.
PEX works as a thermal, electrical and acoustic insulator, complying with regulatory standards. In addition, it has high resistance to abrasion and chemical agents, being inert to oils and pH variations. Its thermal memory allows deformations to be corrected with hot air. It has high mechanical resistance to impacts, cuts, bending, twisting and expansion. It resists high pressures and temperatures, with a capacity of up to 95°C and 6 bars of pressure.
PEX expands without force, avoiding damage to structures. Its great behavior against aging is due to its resistance to chemical agents, low mechanical degradation and absence of corrosion, maintaining its physical properties unchanged over time.
