Pattex Shower and Bath Sealant White is a premium-quality neutral sanitary silicone, designed to offer maximum mould resistance and provide long-lasting seals in bathrooms and kitchens. Thanks to its fast action, it can come into contact with water just one hour after application, making it ideal for applications where rapid use is required. This product ensures watertight and elastic joints, resistant to humidity, water pressure and common cleaning products.
Technical characteristics of the white Pattex sealant for showers and bathrooms:
- Resistance to mold: It offers effective protection against fungi and mold, preventing the blackening of the joints. Complies with ISO 846B.
- Durability: High quality silicone that allows for long-lasting and elastic seals, even in demanding humidity conditions.
- Impermeability: Resists direct contact with water, supporting even strong water pressure after 12 hours of application.
- Quick drying: Allows contact with water just 1 hour after application.
- Presentation: Available in 280ml cartridge.
- Storage: 18 months in original packaging, in a dry and cool place, at temperatures between 5°C and 25°C.
Fields of application:
- Ideal for sealing joints in showers, shower trays, bathtubs (acrylic, resin, whirlpool), washbasins, toilets, sinks, countertops, screens and other sanitary applications.
- Not recommended for use in structural glazing applications, swimming pools, aquariums, or surfaces in contact with water. with food and beverages.
Supports:
- Good adhesion on common bathroom materials such as vitrified ceramic, porcelain, glass, wood, fiberglass, anodized aluminum, stainless steel, and certain plastics.
- Does not adhere to polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP) and PTFE (Teflon®). It is recommended to perform prior tests to ensure adhesion on less common surfaces.
Recommendations for use:
- Apply on clean, dry surfaces free of grease or contaminants. Surfaces can be degreased with alcohol or acetone.
- Remove any old sealants and clean any mould from surfaces before applying the product.
- For a clean and precise finish, it is recommended to mark the joint with painter's tape.
Limitations:
- Not suitable for applications in direct contact with food or for use in swimming pools, aquariums or underwater.
- It cannot be painted and is not recommended for surfaces that release chemical components or plasticisers.
- Not suitable for applications on natural stone, mirrors or sensitive surfaces that react to acetic acid. For these cases, specific products designed for such applications must be used.
How to use it?
1. Cut the nozzle to the desired bead thickness.
2. The product is applied directly from the cartridge using a standard manual or pneumatic gun, without the need for any prior treatment.
3. Clean the tools with solvent before polymerizing.
It is recommended that at the end of the gluing or sealing operation, cover the cartridge with a plastic sheet for the purposes of polymerization and preservation of the product.
